Herd Sires

Every cow at Branch View is given two opportunities to breed AI or conceive via ET. The cows are then turned out with the herd bulls for 35 days in the fall and 50 days in the spring. We typically use three herd bulls, B/R Fastrack 415, a maternal brother to New Design 036, is turned with the mature cows. We select two other bulls from our sale pen, one to turn with the virgin heifers and one to use on first calf heifers. This is consistent with our philosophy we wouldn’t sell a bull that we wouldn’t use ourselves. This breeding program results in a calving period of 60 days in the fall and 75 days in the spring.
